The project

In this project, the clients were on a budget and were looking to remodel the apartment they had just aquired with the objective of using it as their primary home for a couple of years and renting it in the future.

A key point here was to open the kitchen to incorporate it into the living room, adding a península and removing the tiny entrance hall which only served to block natural incoming light.

We also changed the flooring, woodwork, created a full bathroom, removed the textured wall coating, and modernised the electrical systems and plumbing.

The kitchen

By opening the kitchen onto the living room, we were able to create enough space to add a peninsula which could also seat two stools, and most importantly, gain storage space that is generally appreciated in any property but is vital in a tiny kitchen! We also installed floating flooring in the kitchen, providing homogeneity to the entire design of the house and created a feeling of continuity and ampleness in the kitchen-living-dining room.

We furnished this area and designed a bespoke TV cabinet which doubled as a library as well as display cabinet.

The bathroom

One of the other key works we had to carry out for this project was remodelling the bathroom, which hadn´t been changed since the building´s construction in the 60´s. Because the space was so small, we used large sized ceramic tiles and slabs to minimize joining points, with a gloss, white marble finish.

We also included white furniture and an oak countertop, with matte black finishes on the taps, shower screen and accessories.
